Transportation Services
Getting to St. John
Since St. John has no airport, your vacation begins aboard a 20-minute ferry ride from St. Thomas to St. John. Taxis to the Red Hook ferry terminal are right outside the front of the airport.
Ferry Service from Red Hook, St. Thomas: The ferry boat service from Red Hook to Cruz Bay, St. John runs every hour on the hour from 6:00 AM until midnight.
Vehicle Rental
Renting a Jeep or car on St. John is the best way to explore the many beaches, coves, and island landmarks. A four-wheel-drive jeep or SUV is recommended for your stay.
Although we are only 7 miles long, the roads wind along the shorelines or across the top of the island. Pulling over to take in the views and pictures is a favorite pastime of island visitors. With 40 beaches on our tiny 21 square mile island, you will want to take advantage of personally touring St. John.
